| Another somewhat morbid and twisted conceptual work. It was inspired by an obscure science-fiction author's suicide note which read: "I'm sorry about the mess; I wish there was something I could do about it, but if there was then this note would not be necessary." This is a song that provides a clear distinction between singing and vocalizing. To sing is to utilize notes and harmony to produce a mood. To vocalize is to utilize alternative applications of the voice to emphasize certain notions or moods. In this case, many of the techiques are reminiscent of various metal, as well as schizophrenia or a bad acid trip. The music is compiled as a saunter through perception, intended to provide an atmosphere of explorative contemplation and contented solemnity. I'm not entirely sure what genre would be a suiting title for this time signature changing oddity. | |
