MazMyth is a four piece Progressive Fusion Band from Livingston Manor, New York.

Matt Smith: Lead Guitar, Synthesizers, Piano, Live Electronics, Vocals.

Dan Smith: Drums, Vocals.

Steve Freitas: Rhythm Guitar, Vocals.

Jordan DuMond: Bass, Vocals.

Dan Smith has gotten off to a fast start at making a name for himself. This drumming virtuoso was born with a set of sticks in his hands. Not satisfied with settling for his natural talent, Dan has rigorously pursued percussion education receiving lessons from Dave Weckl (Chick Corea Band), Billy Martin (Medeski Martin and Wood), Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree), and Shawn Pelton (Saturday Night Live). Dan's playing is influenced by Tool, King Crimson, Yes, and a wide variety of genres from around the world.

Jordan DuMond is rarely seen without a bass guitar in his hands. Jordan's drive for excellence has sculpted him into a musical force to be reckoned with. Listening to rank Zappa from a very early age, the influence of classic experimental music is evident in Jordan's play. More recent influences like Les Claypool, and Bootsy Collins have helped Jordan to realize the power of funk, and the essence of leading a song with a bassline.

Steve Freitas' melodic and harmonic skills set him apart from the majority of his musical peers. From a creative standpoint, Steve's ability is difficult to match. Steve has a talent for making a crowd feel comfortable. His charismatic charm, and humor laden demeanor could make any audience feel at home. Influenced primarily by Pink Floyd and Sublime,
Steve brings a unique element to the ensemble.

Matt Smith produces, conducts, and composes on a canvas of organized sounds.
Matt is the nucleus of MazMyth insomuch as the myth mimics his name, and sound his imagination. Matt is MazMyth's producer, lead guitarist, live DJ, and artistic engine. Matt is primarily influenced by Pantera, Tool, Aphex Twin, Meshuggah,and Pink Floyd. MazMyth is a constant and progressive gathering of the thoughts, emotions, and
aspirations of each of these musicians. Complex rhythmic compositions and high energy performances are a hallmark of MazMyth's union. Collectively, the band's influences exceed those of any individual member. In this case, the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts.
