    Contests Overview

    The Six Stages

    Contest is Announced

When a contest is first announced, you'll be able to find out its details, when it's running, and what prizes will be given to the winners. Although you won't be able to submit content at this point, you can still prepare for the contest by uploading some media.

    Submission Period

During the submission period, you'll be able to submit your content to the contest. All entries need to conform to the unique rules of each contest, so make sure you read the rules carefully (or else you might get disqualified). During this stage, you can add and remove entries as much as you'd like. But once the submission period ends, all entries are final.

    Post-Submission Review

After the submission period ends, there is a brief period in which TalentTrove takes the time to individually review each entry so we can make sure no one is violating the contest's rules. During this time, we may end up removing invalid entries.

    Voting Period

During the voting period, two things will happen. First, a live feedback section will open up. This is so you can talk about the contest with other users. Second, you'll be given the opportunity to vote between random pairs of entries. Depending on how you vote, the scores for each entry will either go up or down. These point changes are calculated using the Elo rating system, which you can read more about on Wikipedia. To combat cheating, you won't be able to vote for your own entries. So don't worry when they don't show up.

    Voting has Ended

After the voting period ends, the points will be tallied and examined for any irregularities, cheaters, etc. Based on this assessment, TalentTrove will determine the winners. An announcement will soon follow.

    Conclusion

The contest is over when the winners have been officially announced by TalentTrove.
