Currently I am playing in two projects primarily the acid tong is my on going musical-collaberation with a few regulars and we are always open to working with others who are interested in working out an original musical idea.....the second project is a folk-rock duo with Laura Riedy and it is called by the name, Birds of Paradise, we do some covers and have 10-15 originals....the last show we played was at the arts kitchen here in klamath falls oregon.....it was one of the better live shows that Laura and I have had through the years.....we both got into the moment and got lost in a song for ten or twelve minutes....after we came back to our senses from being absorbed in the vibratory essence of the guitars and vocals I guess we didn't go too over board cause the audience was still supportive......
I just ended a project with another person called catharsis bound......it was fun....i miss it...but when the sun vanishes from the sky the plants that depend upon its energy for life also vanish....
the acid tong song double helix, and an original jam c.j. daniel (of Bay of Pigs, Trains Collide, Burning Urination) and I did a drunk jam that happened to be recorded and then put on a skateboard video.....the video is called "Worthless" and can be found on myspace.com, search Klint Martin and he has a tool bar with his videos, I just looked and that video is called the "worthless Intro".....c.j. free-ryhmed the entire song and I jammed the acoustic on it....the funny thing is that we were both so drunk that by the time klint made the video neither one of us remembered doing the song......I remember saying " I like that song." and klint said thats you and c.j.....check the lyrics that he sings" I'll break my neck. I'll slit my wrists." well he had just done the neck breaking thing only a couple months previous to laying down those lyrics.....much love and respect to you c.j.....see you soon....
I will be going on the road by myself doing some solo gigs that will be all acoustic-instrumental interpretations of the tongs songs....I will not be giving heads up as to where and when, I just want to go into the world, find some unfamiliar places and faces to do some playing and do so as is my way.....Hopeful about charging it out the start and willing to play by ear, I love to be spontaneous about everything....so after each show I will add them to this blog,.....an anti-publicity tour for those who will just happen to be there.........
I hope that I can get into a professional studio soon....if your able to make that kind of thing happen and are willing to do so, I have a few new songs that have never been recorded anywhere or anytime before....
I have a new song that I wrote for my baby. rip. and I have put all I could into it....I hope to record it in such a way that it will be of superior quality......It deserves to be done as such for multiple reasons......uriah miles....
I just went to my sisters house and found a blank burn disc, put it in the stereo and discovered twenty three songs that I recorded in Portland , Or... A Festering Sweetness singer, songwriter, P. Karr was the one who made these recordings possible....We had an accident one day, that resulted in the complete erasure of over eighty songs by many people on the studio, the only song that was on it after that day was made by a man who had literally recorded his grief about having erased those songs that we all heard him apologize in tears.......well some of those songs are resurrected from oblivion by pure chance......
the songs will be posted on talenttrove.com soon......included is a track that d. lugo and I wrote that has as of now become the last song that the Backside Crooks recorded.....I like the song, and need to balance the bass track before I put it out....
I am sure that 3-4 songs of the 20+ recovered will also make it onto this site....the songs were written as the first songs for the tong, and cover a time between my first and second break down and hospitalization, I think they show more of a rationality than what is on the site now....more structured like a radio song perhaps...anyway I am happy those songs turned up.....
well I have had a really long break over the past year in the recording process after several years of steady work I took the year off to write new material and explore new musical concepts that I have not worked out before....it has been stress-free but now I know that it is time to get back at it because of restlessness in myself......
I have been working on writing a book for over fifteen years now and realize that it may never come to fruition in the way that I had originally intended but the raw-data I researched reading thousands of books on many different subjects ranging from Mysticim, Greek History, Physics discoveries, beatnik poetry, surrealism, dada, impressionism, gnosticism, pantheism, philosophic works from all over the world and time-space......I now have got the idea that I will write a short memoir of my first 33 years because it seems like the reality of the situation is making that more possible than some kind of non-fiction work on another subject....It is an effort to gain perspective if only in hindsight-analysis of my past in a way as to try and realize what was objectively going on around me throughout my twenties....I have all kinds of stream of consciousness entries in many notebooks that are prose and poetry trying to make it possible for someone to wrap there mind around some of the subjective visions, , feelings, hallucinations, insights, or what have I inside that may for the unique intensity that these states of awareness bring into being....
I hope that you people out there will come around and explore the music we make and also I hope that those of you inclined to visual-verbal communication will find something that can be of interest to your consciousness......
between irrationalities that my bodiless boundaries connecting my personae with the objective reality that gravity hold me upon and my senses sometime merge therein and I am not aware of time, space, only pressures that seem to not press upon each other but seamlessly flow like electricity arcing from the power lines to ground.....
