Culinary Arts Spawn Teen Cooks

Culinary Arts Spawn Teen Cooks
In an era when adults don’t prepare meals from scratch, some teen cooks are turning to the culinary arts for a creative and healthy outlet•while saying no to fast food.
Teen cooks are getting sick-and-tired of fast food and want to know how to cook good meals for themselves and their families.
While it does seem like take-out food is the quick and easy solution to any families cooking problems, some teen cooks are using the culinary arts to express themselves in the kitchen•and then devouring the results.
For many, cooking is an art form, like drawing, painting or designing. It’s all about colors, designs and flavors and teen cooks love it.
Teen cooks want a challenge that is fun and productive. Imagine cooking the dish coeur à la crème, “heart of cream,” a rich French dessert that is as pretty as it is delectable. Imagine eagerly tackling this sweet delicacy, even if it involved complicated hand movements and delicate maneuvers.
Many believe that cooking and baking provides a wonderful outlet for someone to get their creative juices going. Cooking, to many and all chefs/cooks, is seen as an art. Decorating a cake for example, takes a lot form and technique, form and patience to have the exact outcome you are looking for. So it’s no surprise that young chefs are drawn creatively to cooking and baking. Teen cooks and adults can spend many delightful hours painstakingly crafting baked items like cupcakes. Feel yourself beam from ear to ear after successfully crafting a baked goodie that is delicious and fun to cook and eat. To enjoy a meal of your own creation is a little slice of heaven and lot of satisfaction. It’s no wonder people of all ages love to cook so much.
So why not take the challenge and try to create a delicious menu featuring filet mignon, potato croquettes and julienned vegetables, with strawberries flambé for dessert. Test your culinary art skills by preparing an exquisite meal that looks and tastes like it was prepare in a fine restaurant. Make yourself feel good about cooking for you and for others.
In addition to providing an outlet for creative energies kid chefs say they like cooking because they get to eat what they create.
Many parents aren’t around as much as they would like to be, so there is a tremendous need for kids to know how to cook and take care of themselves in other ways. You would be surprised how many kids are happy to have prepared a home cooked meal for their hard working parents, and getting the satisfaction of not only taking care of themselves, their parents and creating something completely on their own.
Learn from the Food Network channel to get ideas on how to experiment with some of your favorite foods. Cooking is also a nice thing to pass onto your teen cooks if you are a parent who is already involved in cooking.
Cooking by its very nature exposes you to various foods, which often has the effect of preventing picky eater syndrome.
Some young cooks draw the line, however, when it comes to cleaning up. Though they try to tidy up, they say good old mom can be depended on to scrub messy pots and pans.
