Untitled: Random Climactic Chapter
The ambulance lights began to fill my vision, the woman beside me crying for me to keep breathing, but the sound was fading, and raindrops started collecting on my face.
Remembering what my dad told me when I first moved to Lynden. I thought, if these were the best years of my life, just kill me now.
I awoke to a warm fuzzy world. Unfortunately, this was due not to a benevolent change in the world policy, but rather to the high doses of morphine administered for my injuries.
My eyes peeled open. I found myself needing to see if Jay was there. He was half asleep in a chair, my dad also asleep beside him. I looked around the white room, and leaned to reach for the clipboard that must have the information about me. But my ribs wouldn't let me and I gave up and laid right back down. The doctor walked in, and explained all my injuries. Other than the concussion, I had a sprained wrist, a couple broken ribs, among the horrific amount of bruises on my body. I didn't talk. Jay opened his eyes and stared at me apologetically. I guess I wasn't upset. It's not like he dared me or made me play chicken with cars on the highway. Still I decided not to speak and enjoyed the silence. No sirens, or bright lights. Jay sat beside me on the bed. "I'm sorry." He told me as a tear ran down his cheek. I reached my hand out to grab his, pulled him down by his shirt with the other, and kissed him. Five seconds later and I was still kissing him, I didn't want to stop. Adrenaline rushing through my body along with the morphine was unimaginable. I pulled away slowly, let out a small grin, and laid my head back down to rest.
